30 years ago, Germany experienced a miracle. Two countries became one. Triggered by peaceful demonstrations (and much prayer), a separation was overcome which fascism and communism had left behind. Although much good has happened in the last 30 years, there are still barriers between East and West. Why?

Recently I went for a walk on the beach of Eastbourne in the UK. I especially like the small beach huts that you can see everywhere. With a size of 6-8 square meters they are not too big. And yet, everyone who owns such a beach hut is happy about it. At one beach hut the following information was written:

I love to eat. Sitting together with family and friends over a delicious meal – what could be better and more enjoyable than that? If we read the bible, we can see that Jesus and his disciples loved to eat as well. On one occasion when Jesus enjoyed a meal with them, he suddenly got up “took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.” John 13:4-5.

I love history, in general, and church history, in particular. It shows God´s love for humankind in so many ways, over hundreds of years, and all over the world. It fascinates me to see how God uses a movement, an organization and, of course, individuals to bless HIS Church.
